What a whirlwind! Keeping up with the Kardashian-Jenner family is always fun, wild and at times hectic, and 2020 was no exception.
Us is looking back at the biggest moments from the reality TV family over the past year, including Kim Kardashian’s lavish 40th birthday celebration.
The KKW Beauty founder flew her family and some of her closest friends to a private island in October amid the coronavirus pandemic. Despite getting some backlash for traveling amid the worldwide health crisis, the birthday girl and her squad made it a week they would never forget.
“Her birthday party was so much fun, and she had an absolute blast,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in October. “Even though she’s getting backlash for taking her friends away, she doesn’t care. She wanted to celebrate turning 40, and she’s happy with where she’s at in life and knows who she is and is more confident than ever.”
Khloé Kardashian also had a few memorable events transpire this year. Us broke the news in August that she and Tristan Thompson had rekindled their romance after calling it quits in February 2019.
The couple, who share daughter True, bonded amid the pandemic especially after Khloé, 36, tested positive for the virus. The Good American cofounder, however, was not alone in her positive diagnosis; Kanye West also battled COVID-19.
“It was so incredibly scary,” Khloé told Ellen DeGeneres in October. “It’s still scary, but especially then when the whole world was shutting down and we didn’t really have any information, or the information we had changed every single day.”
While some of the family was making up and overcoming health issues, others were breaking up. Scott Disick and Sofia Richie ended their relationship in May after nearly three years together.
The Flip It Like Disick alum, who briefly checked himself into rehab the same month to deal with “past trauma,” has since been spotted out on dates with a few different models in Los Angeles.
Even Rob Kardashian, who often stays in the background, made a social media comeback ahead of his return to Keeping Up With the Kardashians — one month after the family announced in September that the E! show would be ending in 2021.

Us confirmed in May that the Talentless founder and the model called it quits after nearly three years together. The pair briefly rekindled their romance in July but split for good a month later. Disick has since been spotted at dinner with model Bella Banos before being linked to Amelia Gray Hamlin beginning in late October when they attended a Halloween party together.

After being named the “youngest self-made billionaire” in the world twice, Forbes reversed course in May, saying that Kylie is no longer a billionaire. “Kylie’s business is significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe,” the publication stated, alleging that Kylie lied about company figures and forged tax returns to “look even richer.” The outlet recalculated the makeup mogul’s net worth, factoring in the accurate sale price of her empire to Coty, revenue over the past four years of Kylie Cosmetics and the pandemic and “concluded that she is not a billionaire.”

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION,” the rapper tweeted in July. The Yeezy designer continued his run for president throughout the year, making it onto numerous states' ballots, but ultimately lost to president-elect Joe Biden. During his campaign, the “Jesus Walks” rapper went on multiple Twitter rants, alleging that his wife, Kim, tried to lock him up amid his mental health struggles.

The Arthur George founder popped up on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in October in honor of Kim’s birthday festivities. He was also in attendance for her private island bash after keeping a low profile for years. “He’s so good,” Kris Jenner said during a November episode of iHeartRadio’s “Pretty Messed Up” podcast. “He’s really great.” Four months prior, a source exclusively told Us that Rob has been “taking really good care of himself” lately and is “in a good mental state” after he returned to social media in June, showing off a slimmer figure and happier overall appearance.

Us confirmed in August that the Good American cofounder was back together with the basketball player after a year and a half apart. “Khloé is hopeful that Tristan has changed for good and will continue to grow and be the great and loyal partner that he has been throughout their time together during the [coronavirus] quarantine,” a source exclusively told Us at the time.

“To our amazing fans – It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kim announced in September, alongside an old show poster. “After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.” The show will end in 2021.

During an October episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, fans learned that Khloé had tested positive for the coronavirus earlier in the year. Although the couple live separately, Thompson stepped up and helped care for the reality star amid her health battle. “I really appreciate how attentive and responsible he’s been,” the Revenge Body host said during the episode. “I mean he asks me [for] breakfast, lunch and dinner what I want to eat. He literally gets it for me, puts it on a tray and leaves it outside of my door. We have a little system. He knocks, so I want him to really feel celebrated and loved. He’s been helping take care of True while I have been on lockdown in my bedroom.”
The episode also revealed that West had tested positive for the virus, and as a result his wife had to take care of him and their four children. “Kanye’s still quarantined in our master bedroom. I think it’s just really overwhelming because every last task is my responsibility and it’s really hard to juggle it all with four kids,” Kim said. “This is the first time I’ve really had to do everything myself.”

The model threw a lavish Halloween-themed party in October to celebrate her 25th birthday and dressed up as Pamela Anderson from the 1996 film Barb Wire. Kendall received backlash for her event, which took place amid the pandemic and consisted of guests not wearing face masks or socially distancing. Entertainment Tonight reported that everyone in attendance had to have a rapid COVID-19 test before entering, but some fans were not pleased with Kendall’s “irresponsible” celebration.

The Strong Looks Better Naked author announced in December that the Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party would not be happening amid the coronavirus pandemic. “It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 I believe,” Khloé tweeted, noting the family’s plan to put “health and safety first.”
