Biggest Celebrity Cheating Scandals Ever: From Bill Clinton to Adam Levine

The ultimate betrayal. Some celebrities have endured their fair share of heartbreak over the years — including highly publicized cheating scandals.

Tristan Thompson made headlines twice for cheating on Khloé Kardashian — whom he began dating in 2016 — over the course of their relationship. The Cleveland Cavaliers player was spotted cozying up to two women in April 2018 while Kardashian was pregnant with their daughter, True. Later that month, Us Weekly confirmed that Thompson had been unfaithful to the reality star since November 2017 with at least five different women.

However, Thompson was present for their daughter’s birth, which was documented on season 15 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Us broke the news in May 2018 that the duo were “fully back together” despite Thompson’s infidelity. The Revenge Body host defended her decision to reunite with the NBA star in November 2018.

“His mistake was obviously humiliating and heartbreaking but I do believe that I am strong enough to endure anything,” she tweeted at the time. “I choose to find a life lesson in every situation, even the nasty ones. Tristan has grown from this but most importantly he is a beautiful father to our sweet baby True.”

The athlete and Kardashian split for a second time when he was seen kissing Kylie Jenner‘s then-BFF, Jordyn Woods, at a party in February 2019.

Another cheating scandal that made waves involved Kristen Stewart, whose romance with Robert Pattinson‘s romance hit a roadblock when photos surfaced in July 2012 of the actress and director Rupert Sanders packing on the PDA. The Seberg star issued a public apology to Pattinson, whom she began dating in 2009.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” she said at the time. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

Sanders, for his part, publicly apologized to his then-wife, Liberty Ross, and their two children, Skyla and Tennyson.

“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” the English director said in a statement to Us. “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”

Ross filed for divorce from Sanders in January 2013. Stewart and Pattinson reconciled but the Twilight costars ultimately called it quits for good the same month.

Smokey Robinson and Diana Ross
The Motown singers, who grew up in the same neighborhood, were later tangled in an affair during Robinson's marriage to his first wife, Claudette Rogers. “I was married at the time,” the "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" artist told The Guardian in April 2023, explaining that his fling with the Supremes singer lasted "about a year." "We were working together and it just happened. But it was beautiful. She’s a beautiful lady, and I love her right till today," he shared. “She was young and trying to get her career together. I was trying to help her. I brought her to Motown, in fact. I wasn’t going after her and she wasn’t going after me. It just happened.” Ultimately, the two called off their romance due to their mutual love for Rogers. “After we’d been seeing each other for a while, Diana said to me she couldn’t do that because she knew Claudette, and she knew I still loved my wife,” Robinson — who had another tryst during his marriage that resulted in the birth of his third son, Trey — told the outlet. “And I did. I loved my wife very much.” Kristina Bumphrey/Starpix/Shutterstock
Becky G and Sebastian Lletget
In March 2023, the soccer star seemingly admitted to cheating on the "Shower" singer three months after their engagement. Amid viral rumors that the FC Dallas player was unfaithful to his fiancée — allegedly hooking up with a woman in a nightclub in Madrid in 2022, per a social media user who claimed to have proof — he shared a lengthy apology to Becky G via Instagram. “Over the last few weeks, during a moment I regret deeply, a 10 minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot,” the athlete wrote. “Since this person did not get what they wanted it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth and false posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person who I should never take for granted or put at risk." He addressed the Power Rangers actress directly in the note. “To Becky, you have been the light in my life, my strength, who has always shown me unconditional love,” Lletget continued. “Instead of honoring that love every day, I have done the opposite, hurting you, and disrespecting the one person I love more than anything. I am so sorry and know I have to do whatever it takes to earn back the trust and love you deserve.” Eric Charbonneau/Shutterstock; Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

"They were having problems for a while," a source exclusively told Us of the bartenders, adding that their issues "only came to a breaking point" after Madix discovered Sandoval's affair. The scandal immediately divided the show's cast and Bravo viewers, with several of the trio's costars throwing their support behind Madix. Sandoval issued a public apology via Instagram in March 2023, encouraging fans to leave pal Tom Schwartz and their businesses alone. He did not immediately address Leviss or Madix. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family," he wrote. Two additional women — Alyson Rosef and Maryka — later came forward with screenshots of alleged flirty messages the Grammy Award winner had sent them. Although Prinsloo did not publicly comment on the infidelity allegations, she was seen smiling as she and Levine picked their daughters up from school later that week in photos obtained by the Daily Mail. The pair's relationship was further tested in December 2021 when fitness model Maralee Nichols welcomed son Theo and sued Thompson for child support. A paternity test later revealed that the basketball star was the child's father.  In July 2022, Us confirmed that a surrogate was already carrying Kardashian and Thompson's second child when news of the paternity scandal broke.
