Katie Holmes Spotted Kissing Musician Bobby Wooten III: 5 Things to Know

A new connection! Katie Holmes sparked dating speculation after she was spotted packing on the PDA with musician Bobby Wooten III.

The actress, 43, was photographed kissing and holding hands with Wooten, 33, during a sweet outing in New York City on Thursday, April 27, in photos obtained by People.

Holmes and Wooten only had eyes for one another as they enjoyed the peaceful stroll and trip to Guggenheim Museum and Central Park. The Ohio native kept it casual in overalls over a white shirt and a cardigan, while he opted for a matching blue jacket over a button-up shirt.

The Dawson’s Creek alum’s outing comes one year after her split from chef Emilio Vitolo. The former couple first sparked romance rumors in September 2020. After less than one year of dating, Us Weekly broke the news that Holmes and Vitolo, 34, decided to go their separate ways. “There’s no drama that went down with the breakup,” an insider revealed to Us in May 2021. “Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together — it just simply didn’t work out.”

In October 2021, another source hinted that Holmes was ready to meet someone special. “Katie has been going on a few very low-key dates but nothing serious right now,” the insider shared at the time, noting that she was “not focused on her dating life” because she was putting her focus into “her career and being a single mom.”

Holmes was previously married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, and the exes share a 16-year-old daughter.

The director opened up about motherhood to InStyle in April 2020. “[I want] to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it. She came out very strong — she’s always been a strong personality,” she told the publication. “She’ll pick an activity and work her butt off until she’s really good at it. Then she’s like, ‘OK, I’m going to try the next thing.’ She’s very focused and a hard worker.”

1. He Comes From a Musical Background
During an interview with Bass Magazine in December 2021, Wooten discussed his family's connection to music. "My grandfather started the Wooten Choral Ensemble in 1949," he shared at the time. "I was born in New Jersey, and we lived there at a time when my dad was doing pop music and studio work, and playing keyboards in Marcus Miller's band." He added: "On bass I fully taught myself, learning whatever songs I wanted. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder and then a lot of Motown. So then I played keys and bass in the church every week. I never took a bass lesson until I got to college, which was more about learning upright bass."   Courtesy of Bobby Wooten III/Instagram
2. He Is Currently Involved With Broadway Productions
The guitarist has participated in American Utopia on Broadway and Moulin Rouge! The Musical. "'It will always feel special to me that I performed in a Broadway show not as a character, but as myself,'" he wrote via Instagram in March. "The curtain may close on #AmericanUtopia on April 3, but not for @bobbywooten3. Bobby will be scoring his first film, Rare Objects, returning to his bass chair over at @moulinrougebway, and performing at @coachella with @carlyraejepsen (so call us, maybe?). 🌟 ." 3. He Has Worked With Other Famous Stars
According to Wooten's adjacent teaching profile on the NYU website, he has performed and recorded with David Byrne, Jennifer Lopez, Mac Miller, Jennifer Hudson and Rick Ross. He also highlighted his composition and production credits for Empire and a project with Machine Gun Kelly. 4. He Created a Social Platform
In June 2020, Wooten launched an internet series that retells history through the Black lens in short videos. "For the first time ever, I feel a glimmer of hope as it pertains to race relations in America. People are beginning to talk and there seems to be a curiosity to learn. As I myself really started to learn about systemic issues in recent years, I realized a lot of the history I was taught overlooked, hid, & sometimes even lied about very significant details," he wrote in a lengthy Instagram post that same month. "This was done as an effort to paint a particular hero’s narrative. As a remedy to this, I decided to retell some of the stories, but from the perspective of people who look like me." The Illinois native later opened up about how the Black Lives Matter movement inspired his new venture. "George Floyd was killed, and I was out protesting, when it struck me: I thought, I can do more than just be a body in the streets. With the lockdown, I had more time, and I figured I have a platform where people would listen," he told Bass Magazine. "I started thinking about how everyone is on their phones, and that’s how news is consumed now. There was a phrase going around, 'Listening and learning,' so I thought, OK, let’s see who’s listening." Courtesy of Bobby Wooten III/Instagram
5. He Got the Stamp of Approval From Holmes’ Mom
