Who Is Snoop Dogg's Wife? Everything To Know About Shante Broadus

The prolific rapper Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is one of the most successful artists of all time, and his business partner, who has managed to largely stay out of the public spotlight, just so happens to be his wife, Shante Broadus.

From his breakout album Doggystyle to his first No. 1 single “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” to his legendary Super Bowl halftime performance in 2022, Snoop has built an impressive legacy, earning many accolades. He has several MTV Video Music Awards, BET Awards and even a Primetime Emmy Award. Ironically, he holds the record for the most Grammy Award nominations, 17, without a single win.

In addition to his hip-hop career, Snoop has also established himself as a celebrity entrepreneur, selling everything from cookbooks (with Martha Stewart) to wine to cannabis gummies.

With so many business endeavors and spinning plates, it’s clear that Snoop isn’t running his brand on his own. Broadus is Snoop’s long-time spouse and business partner. She’s been helping Snoop manage his music deals and contracts since they met in high school, and the pair have only grown stronger over the years.

Who Is Snoop Dogg’s Wife Shante Broadus?
Broadus' life journey is very similar to Snoop's. California native Broadus grew up in Long Beach, California, a stone's throw away from the Hollywood music industry that would one day change her and her husband's life. Before she was Shante Broadus, she was Shante Taylor Fuller. Broadus and Snoop's romance started in high school and continued throughout the rapper's early success when he started collaborating with hip-hop celebs like Dr. Dre. The Los Angeles native was one of Snoop Dogg's first fans and partners — and now, she's the "Ain't No Fun" singer's manager, too.  "I was there with him when he started all this," Broadus told W Magazine in 2021. "Even before he came out [as a musician], our friends and I were his fans. We would always listen to his songs and give our opinions. When he became popular, I was still helping them with deals and offers." Shutterstock
An Entrepreneur and Leader
Because of their deep connection and Broadus' expertise in the business world, she became Snoop's first manager and guided him into the whirlwind of success at a young age. As the "Sexual Eruption" singer became a household name, known for his laconic and smooth rapping style, Broadus operated behind the scenes. Today, Broadus is the CEO of Boss Lady Entertainment (BLE), a management company that represents Snoop as well as two of their children, son Cordell and daughter Cori, who are also pursuing careers in the music industry. The CEO has also built up a massive social media audience of her own, boasting over 1.2 million followers on Instagram. The BLE founder also served as executive producer on several television and film projects including the 2012 documentary Reincarnated and his 2007 E! reality show Snoop Dogg's Father Hood, in which Broadus also starred.  "He knows I know the ups and downs," Broadus said speaking with Showbiz CheatSheet in July 2021. "He needed someone he could trust and knows him like nobody else, and he decided to have me up front and working in the business with him." In June 2021, the rap star named Broadus as his official manager to oversee his full portfolio of multiple business endeavors and investments, including fortifying partnership deals across the spirits, gaming, cannabis, music, mobile apps, brand partnerships, TV/film and licensing space. In addition to her management career, Broadus produces her own line of scarves via Snoop's online marketplace, The Snoopermarket. The mother of three said the scarf line was inspired by her daughter Cori's journey with Lupus, an autoimmune disease that caused her hair to fall out. Shante and the Broadus family all wore scarves to support Cori so she would feel less alone. Shante wanted to create her own colorful and positive scarf line to help others who are going through similar experiences — or just want a fashion-forward scarf in their closet.  Stewart Cook/Shutterstock
Motherhood, Partnership and Love
In addition to being a business partner and wife, Broadus is also the proud mother of three children. The entrepreneur supports her family and cheers on her kids regularly on Instagram as they pursue their own careers. Snoop and Shante have three children together, Cordé Broadus, Cordell Broadus, and Cori Broadus. Snoop also has another son, Julian Broadus, from a previous partner, Laurie Holmond in 1998. How Did Snoop Dogg and Shante Broadus Meet?
Born and raised on the West Coast, the two go way back, first meeting during their formative high school years. They were both born in 1971 and have effectively grown up together, from wide-eyed teenagers to A-List music tycoons. The couple was first introduced at a Long Beach Polytechnic High School football game. The gangsta rapper apparently made the first move and asked for Shante's phone number, however, she refused. When they ran into each other again, Snoop was determined to get her number, and the pair struck up a friendship. Their courtship was innocently old-fashioned. The former Death Row rapper told VladTV, "I had to go over there and date her for, like, four months before I was able to kiss her. I had to call her on the phone. I had to write love letters." Eventually, he won Shante over, and actually became close with her mother as well. Shante's mother and Snoop remain close to this day — calling her "P-Loc." Courtesy of Shante Broadus/Instagram
Separation and Reconciliation
Snoop and Shante had two children before marrying in 1997, but it hasn't all been smooth sailing. The pair separated in 2004 when Snoop filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences. The time apart was tough for both Snoop and Shante, and eventually, the pair found their way back to each other. The couple remarried in 2008. Snoop admits that the break-up was his doing and said he had to make it up to Shante to prove he was serious about staying together. The performer said that it all came down to a realization that he had that despite all the turmoil that he put Shante through, she was always there for him. In a 2013 appearance on The Queen Latifah Show, Snoop Dogg said that while on the journey to fame and success, at a certain point, he discovered that only one thing really mattered: "I became a man and realized that I had to love this woman who loved me and had my kids, and put my life in perspective and let my music and my business be secondary." Loving Life and Becoming Grandparents
In 2015, Snoop got a new meaning to "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang." This time, G stands for Grandparents. He and Shante now have the happy task of being grandparents in addition to life and business partners.  Their eldest son Cordé's had his first son, Zion Kalvin, with ex-wife Jessica Kyzer in 2015. Cordé has since welcomed daughter Elleven, and son Skylar with current wife Soraya Love. The power couple's son Cordell also has two children, Cordoba and Chateau, with his wife Phia Barragan-Broadus. Courtesy of Shante Broadus/Instagram
