Emma Roberts’ Dating History

Never unfabulous! Emma Roberts’ love life has made headlines for the past decade.

The American Horror Story actress has been linked to multiple actors and costars, including Alex Pettyfer, Chord Overstreet and Evan Peters.

While Roberts planned to spend the rest of her life with Peters, whom she met in 2012 while filming the movie Adult World, the twosome called off their engagement several times before breaking up for good in March 2019.

“Emma and Evan were heading for a split and now are just friends,” one source told Us. “Evan has moved out. It wasn’t a bad breakup.”

Multiple sources confirmed to Us at the time that the Little Italy star moved on from Peters with Garrett Hedlund, whom she was spotted walking with in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles in March 2019.

The Triple Frontier actor “had his arm around [her] for a bit and then they were holding hands,” an eyewitness told Us of the outing.

**Alex Pettyfer**

Roberts’ first high-profile romance was with Pettyfer, whom she met on the set of 2008’s *Wild Child.* The duo dated for a year and the *Beastly* star even got the Nickelodeon alum’s initials tattooed on his finger. “I got a girl’s name tattooed on my ring finger because I was in love,” Pettyfer told *Glamour U.K.* in 2010. “We’ve broken up, but I don’t live in regret.”

Roberts’ on-off relationship with Peters began in 2012 after they met on the set of *Adult World.* The couple would later appear on multiple seasons of *American Horror Story* together, but hit their first rough patch in July 2013 when the *We’re the Millers* star was arrested following a domestic violence incident with the *One Tree Hill* alum. Reps for the twosome told Us at the time that the altercation was an “unfortunate incident and misunderstanding,” and that Roberts “was released after questioning” and was “working together [with Peters] to move past it.”

Following the incident, the duo announced their engagement, but would later take multiple breaks in their relationship before splitting in 2016. Roberts and Evans decided to give their relationship another go in September 2016 and the actress started wearing her engagement ring again. They called off their engagement for good in March 2019.

After her first split from Peters, Roberts stepped out with the director in June 2016. A source told Us at the time that the duo were introduced by their mutual friend, fashion designer **Brit Elkin.** "Chris is one of the most understanding and laid-back guys," the source said. The pair called it quits after several months of dating and Roberts reunited with Peters.

**Hayden Christensen**

Roberts made headlines in October 2017 after **Rachel Bilson** reportedly found text messages between the *Scream Queens* star and her then-boyfriend, leading *The O.C.* alum to believe Roberts and Christensen had an inappropriate relationship.
