Family first. Kylie Jenner has dealt with a lot over the past year following news that her BFF Jordyn Woods hooked up with her sister Khloé Kardashian’s then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
On February 17, 2019, Thompson, who shares daughter True with Kardashian, was seen cozying up to Woods at a party. The twosome were “making out,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
The NBA player previously cheated on the Good American founder while she was pregnant with their daughter in April 2018, but since Woods was so close to the family, the scandal cut even deeper.
“Khloé loved Jordyn before this,” the source told Us in 2019. “This is completely shocking to Khloé’s family.”
After the two were caught cheating, which Woods initially denied, Kardashian called things off with the Cleveland Cavaliers star and Jenner’s friendship with the model was left on rocky terms.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder met the social media star in 2012 through mutual friend Jaden Smith and their friendship quickly blossomed. Over the years, Woods was at all of Jenner’s big life events, and even attended big sister Kim Kardashian’s wedding in Italy in 2014.
The duo attended events together, traveled with one another and Woods posed for Kylie Cosmetics. In 2017, the former pals appeared on Life of Kylie and showed off their close bond.
When the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star announced she was pregnant in 2018, Woods was by her side — she was there when Jenner took the pregnancy test. The pair were attached at the hip for years before the scandal tore them apart, the SECNDTURE creator was even living with Jenner before it all blew up.
Months before the betrayal shook the whole Kardashian-Jenner family, the friends teamed up to launch their Kylie Cosmetics collaboration, Kylie X Jordyn, in September 2018. In January 2019, the duo jetted off on a BFF vacation with Jenner’s daughter, Stormi, in toe.

Jenner and Woods became friends in 2012 and before the cheating scandal hit, the two were living together in the Kylie Cosmetic founder’s house. They also collaborated on the makeup line, Kylie x Jordyn in 2018 — and Woods previously modeled for Khloé’s clothing line.

In February 2019, Woods was spotted “making out” with Khloé’s then-boyfriend Thompson with whom she shares daughter True. The model initially denied anything happened but eventually took ownership to her part — which led to Thompson and Khloé splitting and Jenner and Woods ending their seven-year friendship.

After the story broke — fans watched it unfold on numerous episodes of KUWTK — Jenner comforted her sister and explained initial conversation she had with Woods. “I called her and she didn’t really say anything, she was just, like, you know, crying the whole time,” Jenner explained to both Khloé and Kim. “I was just telling her that I’m, like, scared of you now … you weren’t thinking about True, about Khloé, about me, [and] you weren’t thinking about yourself.”

During her personal turmoil, Jenner hit a professional milestone, being named the youngest self-made billionaire by Forbes in March 2019. “I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” she told the publication at the time. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”

In March 2019, the social media star went on Red Table Talk to share her side of the story. During the discussion with cohost Jada Pinkett Smith, Woods admitted to kissing Thompson but claimed there was “no passion” and “no tongue.” She denied having sex with the basketball player as well, saying that it was “never a consideration.” Woods then claimed that she “did as much apologizing as [she] could over the phone, over the text” to Khloé.

During an episode of KUWTK, fans watched Khloé on a trip to Palm Springs with Malika Haqq where they sang along to Nivea’s “Don’t Mess With My Man,” sending a message to Woods following her Red Table Talk interview. Khloé also slammed Woods’ story in regard to the apology that she revealed she never got.
Once Jenner saw the video on Instagram, she called sister Kim to try and stop the way they were all approaching the incident. “I just feel like we’re bigger than this, we’re better than this. I feel like call her or talk to her in person,” she told Kim at the time. “We just don’t need to bully anyone.”

The Kylie Skin creator moved on to building other friendships after the Woods fallout. She started spending a lot of time with Stassie Karanikolaou and got closer to Sofia Richie, going on girls’ trips and throwing festive bashes for all her ladies.

During an episode of KUWTK that aired in July 2019, the Lip Kit maven opened up to the Revenge Body host about her fallout with Woods. “I think that this whole Jordyn situation needed to happen. For a reason. For me, for her, for you, for everybody. She was my security blanket, she lived with me, we did everything together,” she explained. “I just felt like, ‘Oh, I have Jordyn, I don’t need anything else.’ I feel like there’s a part of me that needed to grow without her. And sometimes people are there for certain reasons and certain times of your life and not for others.”

Five months after the scandal, Jenner purged her former BFF from her “following” list on Instagram.

Kylie’s friends support her by being faithful and trustworthy, which Jordyn proved not to be,” an insider told Us in July 2019. “Kylie is still very hurt and disappointed by Jordyn’s actions and her decision making. In July 2019, a source told Us that after Jenner realized that she had “become codependent” with Woods, it took a while to see clearly. In the end, she hoped they could both move forward. “She’ll always care about Jordyn and she only wants the best for her,” the source added. “She’s only sending positivity to Jordyn, but it’s too soon to say [if] they’ll be able to fully reconcile. But time heals a lot of wounds, and the Kardashian/Jenners are a forgiving family.”

The billionaire celebrated her birthday — the first one without BFF Woods — while on vacation in Italy with family and friends in August 2019. The bash included partying on a yacht fit for a queen, a floral display shaped like the number 22 and piña coladas on the sun deck.

Despite freezing out the SECNDTURE designer, Jenner has continued to keep things civil when it comes to Woods. “None of the Kardashian/Jenners are speaking to Jordyn, but Kylie still won’t trash talk Jordyn,” a source told Us exclusively in August 2019. “She doesn’t wish her ill will.” At the time, the insider added that “Jordyn is off doing her own thing.”

In November 2019, the entrepreneur sold 51 percent stake in her company to Coty for $600 million. “I think it was just time,” Jenner explained to Harper’s Bazaar in its March 2020 cover story about her decision to sell. “I mean, we have a great team. But it’s me and my mom kind of leading the pack, which will still be the case. Nothing’s going to change. But hopefully we can expand and get a big infrastructure behind Kylie Cosmetics and go worldwide and get more amazing people on the team to expand the business.”

“Kylie has been doing well since her and Jordyn’s friendship ended,” a source told Us Weekly in February 2020. Another source added: “She of course misses Jordyn at points, but she was more affected by the hurt that was inflicted upon her family versus her relationship with Jordyn directly. She was very conflicted initially, but after observing all the chaos across the board, she knew she had no choice to step away from the friendship.”
