Happily ever after! Bethenny Frankel has found love again with Paul Bernon, and it’s a match made in entrepreneurial heaven.
The Skinnygirl founder and film producer started dating in 2018 after meeting each other using a dating app. “I’m happy,” the Real Housewives of New York City alum said during a July 2019 appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan. “I’m happy in a way that’s different. Not a high or a low, just a balance — which, if you know my personality at all, it’s not often that balanced. But I feel just balanced and healthy.”
The pair briefly split in October 2020, and at the time, Frankel said they still maintained a cordial relationship. “We had a great, great relationship and I’m really happy,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “Not everything has to end badly, some things just don’t continue and it’s not negative, it’s just life.”
Three months later, though, they were spotted holding hands in Miami, and in March 2021, they confirmed their engagement. “I’m very excited, and it’s really wonderful,” she said during a March appearance on Extra, adding that the duo hadn’t yet started the process of wedding planning.
The Big Shot With Bethenny star was previously married to Jason Hoppy, with whom she shares daughter Bryn, born in 2010. The former couple announced their split in 2012 after less than three years of marriage, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until early 2021. She was also wed to Peter Sussman from 1996 to 1997.
Bernon, for his part, was married to Ashley Bernon for 14 years before they divorced in 2017. They share two children. Earlier this year, a source told Us Weekly that the former spouses are on good terms, but noted at the time that Ashley hadn’t yet met Frankel.
“It just hasn’t happened,” the insider said in March 2021. “[Ashley] works as a director for a prominent real estate law firm in Boston. In fact, she’s never even watched the Real Housewives — she doesn’t watch reality TV. She didn’t even know who Bethenny Frankel was and she doesn’t know Bethenny’s true personality or anything like that. She only knows about Bethenny from what she sees and reads.”
Even so, there are no hard feelings between Paul and his ex. Their separation was “very cordial,” the source explained. “They remain amicable [to] this day. Ashley’s completely moved on.”

Frankel credited her beau with rescuing her after she had a severe allergic reaction that required hospitalization. “He saved my life,” she tweeted, adding that she'll never go anywhere without an epinephrine auto-injector.

The reality star couldn't stop talking about how happy Paul made her during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan. "My boyfriend’s very calm and centered and, yeah, balancing," she shared. "And I’m just settled. ... I have a career, I have a daughter, I’ve had a nasty divorce. So I wasn’t sure that I could have just that normal, beautiful, loving relationship that you remember from high school or college or something. And that’s what it feels like.”

After leaving RHONY for the second and (seemingly) final time, Frankel took things to the next level with Paul and went shopping for real estate. “They live together in the Back Bay area [in Boston] now,” an insider told Us at the time. “She has been spending a lot more time up there. They are house-hunting in the New England area.”

The Peabody Award winner wished his love a happy birthday via Instagram. "You have brought me true happiness, and I’m so lucky to have you in my life," he wrote. "No one is smarter, funnier, or makes a bigger impact to help those around us. Thank you for being the most loving partner. I can’t wait to celebrate you today."

The couple briefly split after two years together. “You know, not everything works out," Frankel said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "So many people have tried to define my life — our lives — with, ‘When are you getting engaged?’ ‘When are you having a baby?’ ‘When are you getting married?' ... I’ve just realized more in life, with people being more open and honest about their lives and what they want, that everything doesn’t have to sort of end in a blue box and a bow."

Three months after their breakup, the duo were spotted together in Miami. “It was a spontaneous get-together,” an eyewitness told Us at the time.

More than eight years after their split, Frankel and Hoppy finalized their divorce. Several months earlier, the Bravo alum joked to Andy Cohen that she couldn't marry Paul because she was still legally wed to her ex. “You’re killing me," Cohen replied.

The couple got engaged after their reconciliation. Asked by Extra whether she planned to have the ceremony in NYC, she replied, "I’m not sure. I mean, I love New York.”

The couple attended an “intimate celebration” for Laurie Gelman’s new book, Yoga Pant Nation, in the Hamptons after returning from Italy, a source exclusively told Us. The duo arrived in a white Bentley wearing matching white outfits, according to an eyewitness who noted, “You can tell how in love they are.”
As the pair walked around the bash, the businesswoman “was in a great mood and was introducing [Paul] as her fiancé,” the insider said. “They were holding hands and displayed some PDA. It was nice to see her back at events and bringing along her fiancé,” the source added.
The eyewitness told Us that Frankel was mingling with the author, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Katie Couric and Tamron Hall throughout the night.
"Happy birthday....I love you 💕😘🎂🎈🥳," the Bravo personality captioned an adorable Instagram montage of photos with her beau in honor of his birthday. Bernon replied, "🙏🏻 ❤️. ILY."
