Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick's Relationship Timeline

No stopping them now! Things got hotter in Bachelor Nation when Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick kickstarted their headline-making relationship in January 2019.

The Dew Edit designer and the former banker met during an interview on Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast and, shortly after going on their first date, confirmed they were dating.

News of their romance came just two months after the former Bachelorette and her ex-fiancé, Shawn Booth, called it quits on their three-year engagement. The former pair — who met and got engaged in 2015 during season 11 of the hit reality dating series — announced their split in November 2018 in a joint statement.

“After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration,” the statement read at the time. “Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends. We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways. Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time.”

The Boothcamp Gym owner opened up about Bristowe’s newfound happiness with Tartick shortly after the two went public with their relationship.

“[I’m] trying to understand things right now. I guess this goes with her new relationship too. It just kind of makes me question everything that we’ve had,” Booth said during an interview on Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s “Almost Famous: In Depth” podcast. “So I think that’s one of the major questions that runs through my mind — just trying to understand that, which I think is tough to understand.”

From surprise visits to goofing off together, take a look back at Bristowe and Tartick’s light-hearted love.

Who Would Have Known?

Before Colton Underwood was named the Bachelor, Bristowe rooted for Tartick to take the gig following his time on Becca Kufrin’s season of the reality dating show in 2018. However, the Buffalo, New York, native and the podcast host hit it off the first time they met when Tartick was a guest on her show where he asked her out — and she, of course, said yes.

His Type

“She is a down-to-earth, beautiful woman who has a great sense of humor,” Tartick gushed to Entertainment Tonight of the Canada-born beauty ahead of their first date in January 2019. “She seems very strong and knows what she wants and empowers women.”

Days after their jam-packed weekend together, Bristowe revealed that she already considered Tartick her boyfriend. “We both feel like we’re established and where we wanna be in our lives and we have, like, the self-love and respect to actually, like, be in a mature, healthy relationship,” she said during an episode of her podcast. “I would be upset if he was dating anyone else and I think he would be upset if I was dating anyone else.”

Tartick revealed during a Good Morning America interview that Bristowe is the reason he’s “thankful” that he wasn’t chosen as the Bachelor. “[If I was the Bachelor] I wouldn’t have met someone very special to me right now — Kaitlyn,” he gushed at the time.

It’s Official

Tartick confirmed his relationship with Bristowe during a Today show interview, where he couldn’t stop smiling. “Right here, right now,” he said before noting that he’s no longer single. “Yeah, that’s true. [It’s] Kaitlyn Bristowe.”

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

The couple spent Valentine’s Day weekend in 2019 in Boston. After a night of karaoke and dancing, Bristowe and Tartick hunkered down in their hotel suite with some pals for a NBA All-Star Game watch party. “It’s exhausting being one of the guys,” Bristowe wrote alongside an Instagram video of the commotion happening around her. They later headed out to a club where Tartick held — and kissed — the former Bachelorette’s hand while they danced.

The fun-loving duo spent Valentine’s Day 2019 eating to their hearts' content and lip-synching to their favorite tunes while on a romantic getaway to Boston. Hours after posting some delicious seafood from Bistro du Midi on Instagram Stories, they showed off their best karaoke skills, with Tartick performing “I Know Him” by Jonathan Groff and Bristowe breaking it down to “Whatta Man” by Salt ‘N’ Pepa. The next day, they headed to the Boston Harbor Hotel for what appeared to be an epic brunch.

Although Tartick could not attend the last night of Bristowe's Spring Break tour in Denver, he sent her a loving message on social media. "She is a leader amongst her peers. While facing adversity and having support, but facing haters, she stays true to herself," he said on his Instagram Stories in April 2019. "And let me tell you, she empowers women all over the world. … She creates a safe zone … of unorthodox behavior. ... And while you create a polarizing opinion, you also create people who dislike you or hate you for it. And I give her all the credit for pushing through [and] empowering all the people she does."

The twosome officially welcomed the newest member of their family — a Golden Retriever named Ramen — in June 2019. Bristowe was on hand to greet the dog, whom they rescued from Korea, as her beau was out of town on business. “That first hug fits together like two freakin puzzle pieces,” Tartick gushed in the comments section of a video Bristowe shared of herself meeting the pooch for the first time.

Birthday Loving

Tartick honored Bristowe’s birthday with a sweet and loving post on Instagram that celebrated his “beautiful, bad ass” girlfriend in June 2019. “Take this day to relax and just absorb all of the incredible things you’ve accomplished and people you’ve touched in the limited time you’ve had in this wild world we live in,” he wrote, before adding: “Love you so much!” Bristowe, for her part, replied with several crying emojis as she shared her “love you” for her beau.

A Sweet Meet Cute

Britsowe recalled the adorable time the couple first crossed paths in an “emotional” Instagram post, where she admitted she had been “going through some crap” when he met with her to film an episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast in October of last year. She said her “day had changed” after meeting her love. “I was crying on FaceTime to my dad when he came in. We had never met, but he hugged me, and told me he had just cried too at a charity event he came from,” she wrote in October 2019. “He looked at me and said, ‘let’s have a soft Tuesday together.’”

For Halloween 2019, the lovebirds recreated an iconic moment from Friends where an intoxicated Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) tied the knot during a trip to Las Vegas. “Hello, Vegas? We would like more alcohol,” Bristowe captioned her video post on Instagram, referencing one of Aniston’s lines from the episode.

Growing Fam

The duo adopted a second pup, Pinot, from South Korea in December 2019.

“MERRY CHRISTMAS TO US!! Ramen has a new brother 😍😍. MEET PINOT,” Bristowe wrote via Instagram. “Pinot was found in a kill shelter in South Korea and @bunnysbuddies saved him. Now he has a safe home with us. I was so worried how Ramen would react… But let me tell you… You will see through my stories that these pups took to each other RIGHT away. They snuggle, and don’t leave each other’s side.”

The reality TV star went on to call Pinot a “big mushy sweet heart.”

“He’s got the SOFTEST coat, and the biggest heart,” she gushed. “I know a lot of people will ask how we will do this with traveling so much. But we will make it work. This isn’t about us. This is about giving a sweet innocent pup a new life. We will continue to do what we do, and just do it with 2 instead of 1. #adoptdontshop #GoldenRetrievers #dogsofinstagram.”

The Next Steps

Tartick told Us exclusively in January 2020 that the couple is talking marriage. “Kaitlyn and I have always said no matter what happens in our relationship, however we feel, we are going to do what we think makes sense so that we feel good about it at the end of the day,” he said at the time. “Whether it’s sharing a photo, sharing our feelings, whether it’s raw, whether it’s an argument or it’s us being lovey-dovey, one thing that we’ve always done is stay true to ourselves, so we’re going to continue to do that. And the next sequence for us is that step, so it’s exciting times.”

Quarantine Delays

While Bristowe told Us in May 2020 that she thinks Tartick is The One, she revealed she doesn’t want to get engaged amid the coronavirus pandemic. “[It’s] the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in and [an engagement] just feels like the natural next step,” she said at the time. “I told him I don’t want to [have a] quarantine engagement. [I want] a little more romance than just at the house. … I always say anyone who gets through this quarantine together, as a relationship, should get married.”

Celebrating Achievements

After it was announced in June 2020 that Bristowe was cast on season 29 of Dancing With the Stars, the couple commemorated the milestone by dancing around their home together. Tartick also honored his love’s accomplishment by sharing a supportive statement via Instagram.

“Kaitlyn decided to forgo college to pursue dance, her dream was to always dance with professionals … 5 years later from making her debut on ABC we’re heading to LA to make that dream come true,” he wrote. “Mirrorball or not, you did it again … checked another box off your bucket list! And I’m freakin’ here for it!”

The Big 3-5

In June 2020, Tartick posted a video to Instagram of the moment he shared a special video for Bristowe’s 35th birthday. The video was filled with messages from friends and loved ones, including Bachelor host Chris Harrison. Tartick accompanied the clip with a sweet caption, which read: “Happy 35th Birthday KB! The positive Birthday energy is pouring in already from far and near. Please send this gem of human all the love you can today. Let’s have a day!”

Sticking Points

The couple opened up about what they fight over on an episode of “Whine Down” with Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin in June 2020.

"I like things a certain way and I feel like, even with dogs, I have this motherly instinct and I feel like sometimes Jason can't do things right, where I'm like, ‘How do you not know to do that?'" she began. "I feel like that's gonna be when we have kids, that I'm going to need to be aware of how hard I am on you because I'm gonna think, like, I have motherly instincts and I know what to do and I'm gonna worry about how you're gonna do it."

Tartick added: “We get into a lot of arguments of, like, what is right or wrong for the dogs. I think that's where we're both hard-nosed with where we believe on certain things. Like, you'll be like, ‘You always think you're right.' And I'll be like, ‘Well, you say that.' But we do find ways to comprise. Because if you can't compromise, it's not gonna work. So, it's gotta be give and take and you pick and choose your battles — that's what I've learned at least."

Ready for Anything

Before she hit the ballroom floor on season 29 of Dancing With the Stars, the Canada native gushed over the strength of her relationship with Tartick. "We've talked about the fact that people have said that or maybe it has done something to relationships," she said during an August 2020 interview on the "Behind the Rose" podcast, admitting she had no worries that her time on the series would spark a breakup. "It's so different for each relationship and I just feel like we're in such a solid place and have such a good foundation."

During an emotional episode of DWTS in October 2020, Bristowe dedicated her romantic dance to her boyfriend. "He has been so supportive of my dreams and I'm so excited to dedicate it to him," she wrote via Instagram at the time, announcing that she would be performing to one of her and Tartick's favorite songs by Luke Combs.

"Being a mom is a dream and aspiration," the former spin instructor said during an October 2020 episode of her "Off the Vine" podcast, joking that she had big plans for celebrating a potential DWTS victory. "If Artem [Chigvintsev] and I win the mirrorball, I will poke holes in your condom," she told Tartick, who admitted he'd rather wait until they were married to start on the path to parenthood.

Icon Alert!

For Halloween 2020, the Bachelor Nation power couple channeled another iconic Hollywood duo: Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. "Hi, Aniston," Tartick teased in an Instagram video, mimicking the exes' Fast Times at Ridgemont High reunion looks.

Perfect Score

After facing a handful of harsh critiques with Chigvintsev on DWTS, Bristowe and her pro partner earned their first perfect score in November 2020. Tartick was quick to congratulate his girlfriend, gushing over her impressive feat during a FaceTime call. "You fought, battled, and grinded with class and you freakin did it!" he wrote via Instagram alongside a screenshot from their chat. "10’s across the board! Let’s goo!!!"

Cheering Her On

After giving an emotional DWTS performance in honor of her late childhood friend in November 2020, Bristowe raved over Tartick's never-ending support. "Jason is literally the most supportive human being on the planet," she told Us at the time. "He's such a logical thinker and I'm such an emotional thinker that sometimes it's hard for him to separate the two. But this week he's been really, really good at being there for me emotionally and just understanding and telling me what I wanted to hear. He's been absolutely incredible."

Though she said the coronavirus pandemic would make it "hard to celebrate" a potential mirrorball win, she already picked out the perfect place for it in her and Tartick's home. "I'm gonna put it on the top of my [Christmas] tree," she teased.

In It Together

In December 2020, Bristowe and Tartick tested positive for coronavirus and spent the holidays quarantined together. "Like many, we will spend Christmas by ourselves. We just want to let everyone know that we thought we were being safe, but covid is bigger than us," she wrote on Christmas Eve. "Today, We are thinking of everyone who is spending the holidays alone, anyone who is sick or overcoming something, (as 2020 has taught us to overcome a lot), and all of the healthcare workers who have been away from family, taking care of others for months, and months now. We will be ok."

Still Going Strong

After accidentally sparking rumors that she and Tartick had called it quits in February 2021, Bristowe insisted that she was still "Taken AF" — but not quite "Engaged AF." The banker poked fun at his girlfriend's social media fail, teasing in the comments of her Instagram post, "OMG Kait 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️ — stirring things up like macaroni in a pot."
