Everything Kendra Wilkinson Has Said About Dating Since Hank Baskett Split

Is her heart closed for business? Kendra Wilkinson has been an open book when it comes to her dating life after her split from ex-husband Hank Baskett.

The reality star announced in April 2018 that she filed for divorce from the former NFL player after nearly nine years of marriage. The pair share son Hank IV and daughter Alijah.

Since their divorce was finalized in February 2019, the Girls Next Door alum hasn’t gotten serious with anyone. She has, however, been very clear about what she doesn’t want.

First on that list is former Bachelorette contestant Chad Johnson, to whom she was linked in early 2019 after the duo were spotted getting cozy while out to dinner in Los Angeles. “For the millionth time. I’m not dating right now,” she tweeted in January of that year. “I’m basically a f—king virgin.”

After her best friend Jessica Hall told her about the rumors, the Sliding Into Home author replied, “My vagina is still very closed.”

“I want to see [Kendra] with a family man because that’s all that she wants,” Hall told Us Weekly exclusively in September 2019. “She doesn’t want the spotlight or the crazy success. She wants a guy that just wants to go camping and wants to take her and barbecue. She’s so simple and I think a lot of people don’t realize that about her, but she really wants the ultimate family guy and it’s what she’s always dreamed of and what she’s going to continue to want, so I like that it has not changed and she has not changed.”

At the time, the Kendra on Top alum was focusing on her kids and career, even as Hall tried to set her up with some eligible bachelors. “I’ve mentioned a few things here and there,” her friend told Us. “I wish I had a family member single, to be honest, so I could make her my real-life sister, but I don’t. I mean, my husband does have an identical twin brother, but no.”

In April 2020, the California native — who was previously linked to philanthropist Donald “DJ” Friese — was spotted with a mystery man in Los Angeles, but a source told Us at the time that it was nothing serious. The insider added that she had been seeing someone that spring, but it was “more so a fling” than a serious relationship.

“She wasn’t spending all her free time with him and she [wasn’t] super optimistic in terms of where their ‘relationship’ [was] going,” the source explained in May 2020.

About Me

The Kendra on Top alum focused on rebuilding herself nearly one month after her split. “I feel like going on a romantic dinner date by myself and bringing my dildo,” she wrote on her Instagram Story in April 2018. She later tweeted: “I’m going to do it this week I think. I’m going to [wear] a dress, put on makeup and go on a date by myself. Table for one at 8pm. LBD, red wine, maybe some jazz, n then… #mood.”

Knows What She Wants

“I am done tweeting about hank out of respect for my kids. Love will always win and he’s a great guy… we will all be fine after this hurdle is over,” the former Girls Next Door star tweeted in June 2018, adding: “I think i just need some d—k.”

Back to Plan A

After some consideration, Wilkinson told her Instagram followers in November 2018 that she had ditched the idea of looking for a significant other. “Been dating myself lately. Getting to know myself and even falling in love,” she wrote. “Love and happiness is real without waiting on someone or something to do it for you. Been taking a lot of patience, empathy, and discipline…. well, except with the d—k head I flipped off on the road the other day…”

The Sliding Into Home author opened up to Us Weekly and other reporters about men reaching out to her amid her divorce. “Honestly, I actually have a lot of text messages,” she said in December 2018. “Guys are hitting me up, but I want nothing to do with it.” She added that she would rather “Netflix and chill with my wine” or “build a computer and do nerdy things and game” than go out.

On the Market?

Wilkinson shot down romance rumors in January 2019 after she was spotted holding hands with Bachelorette alum Chad Johnson. “We had a lot to catch up on after about 2 days of her being MIA,” she captioned an Instagram pic of herself and pal Jessica Hall. “Filled her in about these recent annoying rumors and how my vagina is still very closed up.”
