When celebrities join Howard Stern, it’s expected that they’re going to spill the dirty deets — and boy, did Amy Schumer deliver!
The 38-year-old Trainwreck actress appeared on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show for a remote interview with Stern, 66, on Tuesday, April 28. Though the pair discussed her upcoming projects including her HBO Max special Expecting Amy and her cooking show premiering on the Food Network next month, Schumer also opened up about various aspects of her personal life.
The comedian’s sex life with husband Chris Fischer, whom she wed in 2018, was among the topics discussed during the candid conversation. Schumer, however, has had no fears in opening up about sexual intimacy in the past.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018, Schumer candidly admitted the “craziest place” she’s had sex when pressed by Ellen DeGeneres during a round of “Burning Questions.” To the 62-year-old host’s inquiry, she quickly replied: “My butt.”
Thereafter, DeGeneres asked Schumer to dish about her sex life with her 40-year-old chef husband. “My spouse gives the best … ,” the Finding Dory star prompted, to which Schumer replied, “Head.”
In Tuesday’s interview with Stern, Schumer also spoke about her difficult pregnancy with son Gene due to her having hyperemesis gravidarum. The health condition, which Duchess Kate also had, causes women to experience severe nausea and vomiting.
Days after giving birth to Gene, Schumer took to Instagram to share her pregnancy takeaways by detailing her experience with hyperemesis gravidarum. “I threw up violently and felt sick mostly every day of my pregnancy,” she wrote in May 2019. “Hyperemesis is real and it’s awful. But f–k, what they say is true. The second you give birth it’s gone. @hgmoms has the best research I found on the condition. The only thing that helped me with my nausea was products from @thelordjones.”
In January, Schumer revealed that she started in vitro fertilization to help her conceive a second child. However, she noted that she was “feeling really run down and emotional” just one week into her journey.

The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo author opened up about her rough experience being pregnant, during which she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum. “It’s scary because you can't nourish the baby or yourself,” she explained of the health issue. “If you’ve ever had food poisoning, it’s truly that for nine and a half months. Seriously, once you meet your baby, you’re like, ‘Oh, my God! I would have been sick like that for 10 years just to meet you for an hour.’”

Schumer welcomed son Gene in 2019 following a challenging pregnancy, and is still interested in having more children. “I hope so,” she said of expanding her family. “We got these embryos but right now, we were going to try and make a move and COVID happened. Every Mother Counts is amazing. Every expectant mother can go there and have questions answered.”

The I Feel Pretty actress shared a very TMI detail about her sex life with her husband. “Chris went down on me the other day,” she confessed. “We’re having sex once a week and feeling very good about that. It's good. And we go, ‘This is great. We should do this more’ and we still only do once a week.”

Schumer opened up to Stern about the time Fischer learned of his autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, stating that he was “really relieved” and “felt really empowered” thereafter. “People have been making him feel like he was kind of bad, wrong or a jerk his whole life because some of the behavior is really strange,” she explained.
“To hear you’re not a bad person, your brain is different and here are some tools that can help you navigate your life and your communication with the people you love, it was really emotional. He was really happy about it,” she continued. “There’s nothing I would change about him. With his brain and how he is socially, it’s all good to me.”
Despite her husband’s diagnosis, the comedian noted that she’s “not” worried about the possibility of her son being on the spectrum. “I think there are so many parts of someone being autistic that make someone really brilliant, lovely and interesting. A lot of my favorite people are on the spectrum,” she shared.

Schumer and Fischer originally named their son Gene Attell Fischer, but they didn’t realize that the infant’s first and middle names sound like “genital” when said together. “It never dawned on me. All the blood rushed to my head. Everyone was saying, ‘I don’t think it’s a big deal,’” she said. “I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Everybody gave me credit, but no. It was a huge f--k up. The first of many failures, right out of the gate.”
In April, they changed their child’s name to Gene David Fischer.

Schumer and Fischer have enjoyed being in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, with their son during the coronavirus pandemic. “Gene can walk outside on the grass and we’re not terrified,” she explained. “New York is tough. It was really heavy.”
The Snatched actress also revealed a milestone she’s had with her son, adding, “I got to see him clap for the first time. It’s such a luxury to spend this time with the baby.”
