Football fanatics! It’s no secret that athletes such as Tom Brady, Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers love football, but there are also plenty of stars that enjoy rooting for their favorite teams from the sidelines, too — or from the comfort of their homes.
Whether they’re suiting up in the jerseys of their favorite players every Sunday afternoon or going all out for their fantasy football league, Tinseltown’s finest has plenty of love for the game.
Nick Lachey, for instance, has been known to cheer on his team from the couch alongside son Camden, while John Legend does his fantasy drafts in his home while surrounded by daughter Luna’s toys, making it a family affair.
Others, like Eric Decker, have given up their days on the field, but not their affinity for the sport; Jessie Decker says she and her husband watch the game religiously.
There are also plenty of A-list women in the stadiums’ stands. Football wives, such as Gisele Bündchen, who is married to New England Patriots quarterback Brady, and Kristin Cavallari, whose husband is former Chicago and Miami QB Cutler, are stadium staples. You’re also likely to find celebs such as Alyssa Milano — the Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later alum created her own line of fan apparel for women called Touch — rooting for their teams.
Then there’s E! News anchor Maria Menounos, who’s no stranger to the stadium Jumbotron: She has been to nearly 20 Super Bowls, after all!

The Almost Famous actress and her big brother, Oliver Hudson, are mega fans when it comes to the Denver Broncos. When they made it to the Super Bowl in 2016, the two siblings, who grew up in Colorado and Los Angeles, had to be there to root on the team. “To be here with my bro is just as sweet as can be! Missing Wyatt, thinking of you!!! #GoBroncos #SuperBowl50,” the Fabletics founder shared via Instagram in February 2016.

The Blue Crush actress has her own drinking game that she plays with her husband, Michael Polish, whenever they watch their team, the Dallas Cowboys, play. Every time the team scores they take a shot of whiskey, the actress told Jimmy Fallon in 2015.

The Morning Show star is all for football season. In addition to creating a tailgate-approved décor collection for her company Draper James in the past, the actress frequently shows different football teams love each fall via social media. In 2019, she was rooting for the Tennessee Titans, who made it to the AFC Championship game. The year prior, she posted a throwback photo of herself wearing a football jersey from 1992 in honor of the Super Bowl.

After attending the NFC Championship game in January 2020, the actor posted a photo of himself watching the game, wearing an “NFL” hat and quoted his Parks and Recreation character. ”I LITERALLY love football! And teams. Every one of them! They are all wonderful! Go teams! -Chris Traeger,” he wrote via Twitter.

The Ant-Man actor is a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan (he went to college in Kansas) who will do “whatever it takes” to help his team win. “It is the most exciting time I think, right now to be a Chiefs fan, in a long time,” Rudd told Good Morning Football ahead of the 2019 season, which resulted in them making it to the Super Bowl in February 2020.

The Modern Family star is a Kansas City native, so he’s been a Chiefs fan his whole life. Ahead of the team’s 2020 Super Bowl appearance, Stonestreet was honored with banging the giant drum at a home game during the 2019 season.

The longtime Patriots fan told ESPN in January 2019 that she hasn’t missed a Super Bowl in ages. “Hell yeah! I’ve been to every single one except for one they weren’t playing, but I’ve been to 17 Super Bowls. … Maybe they’ll give me a ring!”

The season 23 Bachelor played college football for Illinois State before flirting with the NFL. (He was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2014 before being waived and placed on injured reserve. He also practiced with the Oakland Raiders, but was released in 2016 after injury struck.) "I had a serious shoulder issue and told myself I should get the surgery done. I couldn’t keep playing on it,” he told the JournalStar in June 2017. He’s admittedly gotten a bit rusty since then, telling Us Weekly in January 2019, “For being a former football player, I don’t actually follow the game very closely anymore.”

While it’s unclear whether the model was a football fan before she took up with husband Brady, she’s been a sideline staple at the New England Patriots’ quarterback’s games since 2007. In fact, as she revealed to the Associated Press in 2014, she only has eyes for her man on the field. "At night if my husband is watching TV and watching football, I have my little book and I put something in my ears so I don't hear it and I put my light [on] and have my book and I'm like, 'Ohhh,'” she said. “He's feeding his soul and that's important to him to watch football. I only want to watch if I'm watching him."
Still, when she cheers, she cheers hard: a video posted to Twitter by the NFL in February 2017 showed her going nuts after the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

Like Bündchen, Cavallari was always a super supportive football wife, repping her quarterback husband, Cutler, from the stands first in Chicago, and then in Miami until he retired for good after the 2017 season. The reality star even has an appreciation for more than one player, posting an Instagram photo of herself with former Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino in October 2017, writing, “Legend.”

The self-proclaimed diehard New York Giants fan, whose father-in-law is the head of the "chain gang" (the crew that manages signal poles on the sidelines) for the team, also provided the commentary for a flag football game for wives and girlfriends of NFL players that took place in February 2017. “You how people sing in the shower? Sometimes I like to pretend I’m doing color commentary for the games,” she told NFL.com.

These two may see eye to eye on a lot, but when it comes to their sports teams, “forget about it.” “It doesn’t cause friction,” the Jenny McCarthy Show host, who reps her hometown of Chicago, told NBC Sports in April 2016 of her husband, a Patriots fan. “He just made me appreciate a different team.” The former Playboy model said their rivalry actually made her like the sport on a deeper level. “It helped me like football more, because I was so hyper-focused on just Chicago, that I appreciate what [Patriots General Manager Bill] Belichick has done,” McCarthy said. The television personality also rooted for the Patriots while attending the Super Bowl with the restaurateur in 2015.

Simpson was dubbed a “jinx” by many in December 2008 while rooting for her former man, retired Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, from the stands in a pink jersey during the team’s worst game of the season. Her ex-boyfriend John Mayer stuck up for her at the time, writing on his blog, “That girl loves Texas more than you know. It’s one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don’t try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn’t be able to, but it’s less work for all involved.)” The fashion designer clearly wasn’t too put off from the sport; she went on to marry former NFL tight end Eric Johnson in 2014.
