Stars’ best friends! Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and more celebrities have turned to their furry friends for comfort during the coronavirus outbreak — and many are providing forever homes to pups in need.
The “Slide Away” singer, 27, and boyfriend Cody Simpson introduced their rescue pup Bo to their Instagram followers earlier this month, adding to Cyrus’ growing menagerie of pets. The Disney alum spoke with the owner of California’s Wagmor Luxury Spa, Hotel & Rescue, Melissa Bacelar, during a recent episode of her Instagram Live series and discussed how the current COVID-19 crisis has impacted animal shelters across the country.
“[Bo] was so shy when we first got him and he’s totally out of his shell now. He’s such a mama’s boy, which I love,” Cyrus told the shelter owner earlier this month.
Gomez, also 27, also used her platform to encourage fans to think of the canine companions who are in need of a safe home during this hectic time. “I would like to introduce my new family member, Daisy,” the Spring Breakers actress said during a livestream on Instagram in March. “I know a few friends who are fostering right now, just to give animals a safe place … I couldn’t help it, I had to keep her.”
Not only does fostering or adopting a pet benefit the lucky pups who are given forever homes, but having the support of a pet is equally as beneficial for the new caretakers, especially during periods of high stress. For actress Camila Morrone, fostering her husky was “the single best decision” she could have made for her mental health during her self-quarantine.
“For all my friends showing interest in doing this, DO IT,” the 22-year-old Argentina native captioned a snuggly Instagram post of herself and her new pup, noting that fostering an animal in need is a life-changing experience. “You won’t regret it 
these sweet creatures need you so badly.”

The pregnant actress announced in November 2020 that she and husband Koma were heading to Pennsylvania to pick up their newest family member … a St. Bernard puppy. “Easy like Sunday morning,” the Younger star captioned a photo of the pooch with her son, Luca, on November 15. Koma also shared a snap of the pup, revealing her name is Winnie.

On November 11, the Carnival Row star announced that the engaged couple fostered a new pup after the death of his dog, Mighty. “Time for a #cutedog photo
🤍 plz meet BUDDY, a one year old something & something mix ,” he wrote via Instagram, sharing pics of the new puppy. “Nothing can replace Mighty man, but fostering this little guy has really filled my heart. If you’ve never fostered or are considering, I’d highly recommend it — it leaves two beings better off & remember what they say never judge a book by its cover.”
"Hi Tarzan❤️," the “If I Can’t Have You” singer captioned a series of photos and videos on Instagram on November 3, introducing the couple’s new puppy to their fans. Mendes and Cabello added the golden retriever to their family while quarantining together in Miami.

Less than one week after revealing the death of her family's French bulldog, Pepper, the daughter of Reese Witherspoon announced a new addition to their crew: rescue pup Benji. "What a wild & bittersweet week," she captioned a series of Instagram pics of the pooch on October 25, thanking the Best Friends Animal Society in Utah for all of their hard work. "The day we lost Pepper just so happened to be the day I brought this sweet boy home with me ... He loves to cuddle and meet new friends (human & canine) and has quickly adjusted to life in his new home environment."

The Magic Mike actor announced via Instagram on October 4 that he adopted a Dutch Shepherd named Rooklin. “This is the newest member of the Tatum tribe. Meet ‘Rook’ or ‘Rooklin,’ [my] 12 week old Dutch Shepard [sic],” he wrote. “He’s gonna be a goon. After I lost my Lulu, I didn’t know when or if I’d be open to having another dog.
