Kate Beckinsale is no stranger to a clapback! The actress never shies away from the opportunity to defend herself — especially if a troll comes for her relationship.
Beckinsale has made headlines for her love life over the years. The Underwood star dated Michael Sheen from 1995 to 2003. They share daughter Lily. After their breakup, Beckinsale started seeing director Len Wiseman. The duo tied the knot in May 2004, but called it quits after 11 years of marriage in November 2015.
Following her divorce, Beckinsale was linked to actor Matt Rife, who is more than 20 years younger than her. The on-off pair were last spotted together in 2018. The Serendipity star moved on from Rife with comedian Pete Davidson, who is also 20 years her junior.
“Kate is a lot of fun and loves embracing her youthful side,” a source told Us Weekly in February 2019 after Beckinsale and Davidson were seen holding hands. “She’s always the life of the party and likes going out, dancing and hanging out around young people at hip places.”
The source added at the time that Beckinsale “likes” that the Saturday Night Live star is younger than her.
“It’s no surprise she likes Pete — he makes her laugh,” the source said. “[Kate] very confident in her skin and is all about having a good time.”
However, Beckinsale and Davidson’s fling ended after less than four months.

After an Instagram user told Beckinsale to “go home and take care of [her] kids” in June 2017, the actress replied, ”What's amazing is it is no longer the 18th century so now that my one child is grown I don't have to stay home (while she's out with her own friends) playing the pianoforte, getting consumption or trying to secure her a marriage. But thank you for the quaint blast from the past. Oh and I can vote now too! YAY.”

Beckinsale had a funny reply after an Instagram user mistook her for Sarah Silverman’s mother in February 2017. (Silverman was dating her ex Michael Sheen at the time.) "That sarah is your daughter? "I witness men constantly doing whatever they like, whether that’s in relationships, or deciding to buy a motorbike, or getting a tattoo," Beckinsale said during an unfiltered interview with Women's Health in May 2020. "It hasn’t been interpreted as, 'Why hasn’t he had more children?' or 'Is he ever going to decide to become a parent?' or 'Why has he had so many girlfriends?' ... It can feel like a little bit of a political act to be a woman over 32 who’s having any fun at all."

When an "All Lives Matter" supporter critiqued her post about Breonna Taylor's death, Beckinsale made it clear that she wouldn't stand for "mean spirited" comments. "What's really sad is you being pushy on a post about a woman's death and saying 'what about someone else' actually does a disservice to the person you are trying to illuminate," she replied in June 2020. "All these deaths are tragic and could ALL have been avoided. ALL. Someone posting about one does not imply not caring about another. Don't make a fight where there isn't a fight, it's disrespecting both and all."

After sharing a video of herself relaxing in bed in October 2020, the British actress faced off against a troll who thought she looked "dreadfully thin." Never one to hold back, Beckinsale replied, "You're wearing speedo goggles — it might be hard for you to be entirely confident about what you’re seeing — much less comment about it."
