Trick-or-treat! The most outrageous celebrity Halloween costumes of all time are hard to beat — but that won’t stop these stars from continuously pushing the envelope.
Whether it’s Kylie Jenner dressed up as “Dirrty”-era Christina Aguilera or Demi Lovato channeling It‘s kid-eating clown Pennywise, these are the looks that are hard to ignore.
However, they can also be sweet. Case in point: Beyoncé and Jay-Z slaying their Barbie and Ken ensemble.
Some of the most eye-catching celeb looks are the punny ones. Dakota Johnson’s suggestive 2015 costume combined Steve Jobs’ famous black turtleneck with a hairdryer — and we’ll let you figure out the rest.
Of course, it’s Heidi Klum who always understands the assignment. At her yearly bash, which has a strict “no costume, no entry policy,” the model consistently offers up fascinating fits that have ranged from grannies to apes to aliens.
“What I love the most [about Halloween] is for people to be able to escape and to transform into someone else,” the Project Runway alum told Vogue in 2020. “With makeup and a costume, you can be anyone and anything. That allows most people to be loose and have more fun.”
Not to be outdone is Katy Perry, whose past getups include a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto, a mic drop and Hillary Clinton. Her unwavering commitment to the holiday has made her one to watch every October 31st — and that’s by design.
“For Halloween, I definitely have a very topical costume,” the “Teenage Dream” singer said in October 2021. “I like to hit the summary of the year on the head, and it’s very goofy as I go … I always tend to lean weird.”
